Talking rubbish, what Gayle did isn't a crime, and the BBC gave him plenty of flak at the time. Secondly, Gatlin has already had a run in with the BBC because they constantly referenced the doping. They enacted off now. Do some research before you write these articles, and also learn what hypocrisy actually means.

1. Re: Future: It is very hard for a player to be like Kohli. It is lot easier for a future player to follow in footsteps of power hitters. Kohli, who has his grounding in a more conventional approach to batting in T20, is so good that he actually keeps up with power hitters in terms of SR. Such players will be one in a million. Hence I said that the future belongs to players like Pandyas and Russells, as it just sheer numbers. that the power hitters outnumber the Kohli-types.
2. It would be easier to find a power hitter than someone with such high quality game like Kohli. Within T20, where run scoring is the be all, end all, it makes sense to go towards power.
3. The numbers based on SR, Six and Four hitting rates show that AB was better. You may disagree with this, but if the idea is to score the most runs possible, i think a player who is more intent on hitting sixes is better suited to T20.
4. Batting line up is not 1 person. If you have a deep line up of power hitters, like WI did, even if someone fails, there are others to pick up slack. Its only a 120 balls innings. It doesn't require too many to succeed to put a big score.
5. Consistency is good but consistency of what? If someone can consistently score 30 of 12 balls, i'd take that over someone score 30 of 25 balls consistently.

I disagree with the following points that you have made and how it could change T20s in the future.
"The future of T20 batting is Pandyas and Russells of the world and not Kohli".
"Pandya is a better value and fit than Kohli within the confines and demands of T20"
"kohli was not even the best player in the Royal Challengers Bangalore side, let alone in the IPL”

. I think all these statements are valid from a momentary standpoint if the future of T20 s is going to be decided by just a strike rate potential. The hitting ability doesn't matter if you are going to perform in 3 of 10 matches . You failed in 7 matches and your probability rate of failure is high in the finals or semis.

I would rather see an auction where owners pick players based on their consistency ( along with hitting ability) , Maybe someone will be able to calculate an impact factor (based on how likely a batsman is likely to fail). Then we can see where the pandya and russel's would fall.

I agree with a lot of things , the power hitting and all that . But at some point, you have to get a look at the big picture which is , if an IPL were to happen or any T20 tournament were to occur, what kind of an impact would a batsman have. When you look at this , then kohli comes into any X1 and pandya , russell etc go out of any X1. How much a player like kohli can be consistent as well as be a power hitter would be a big factor when you decide your team ? Like pandya or russell did not perform even in 15% of the matches . whats the use of them being in a XI . Just coz of ability? Thats where I disagree.
